Swivel Module failure (AFS)

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

So I have the AFS error appearing on the dash, after reading around its either a new headlight / changing the motor. Does anyone know what the exact motor i need is? A Link to the product will be awesome! I have tried googling but not really sure what will fit.

Im thinking replacing the motor will be the cheapest option, and worst case i can just buy a second hand headlight.

i have attached the error below

Thanks in advance

Ok so got Skoda to look at the fault. As i expected they want me to fork out 600+£ for a new headlight. After looking in the workshop manual and a quick call to TPS i have got the required part coming to me tomorrow for £35 after discount.

Will be installing over the weekend, so will send some pictures.

Wish me luck !

You and me both! May I ask, what year is your car and how many miles has it done? I do like these adaptive headlamps on my VRS but at the back of my mind, I also can't help worrying about if / when it goes wrong!

I had a go at changing the motor over the weekend, believe me its by no means a clean and tidy job, but the headlight is water tight and i have no errors on the dash. I did take some photos but having trouble uploading them as they are way too big.

Its do able and saved me £350 plus on a new headlight, but you have to be prepared to take the risk of screwing up a head light. Glad i undertook it, just for the reason of no errors. It never caused an issue with the functionality while driving, so i could probably have lived without it.

I might keep an eye on a light on ebay if one comes up cheap might just do the change, because the surgery is not pretty lol

A part number could be a help.
I have 2015 Superb with fault code C108E - position sensor right hand Swivel module.
I dont understand what you mean by "surgery is not pretty"?? Something wrong with your headlight as well??

No - what this means is that you have to take the headlight out of the car (not a five minute job on a MK3), then take the headlight unit apart to get at the motor.  The drive motor (from when I had my 2016 Scout with AFS) - had the module on the outside of the headlamp unit, but it is a mass of electronics that need to be split apart - carefully.
