Boot door

Featured Replies

hi

can I adjust the the boot? Somehow when I shut it it doesn’t sound solid like the doors. I don’t slam it shut, but it’s not got that thunk.
hopefully someone can help.

Is it not fully closing ! is it rattling ? is the warning light on?

If all these things are ok I would leave well alone or ask the dealer to look.

Once you start to " adjust " things it can be a bugger to get things right again.

Presumably you have a manual boot door, but with an electric door there's hardly any effort for it to latch, with just a fairly quiet click as it does so. As Gomezz says, if it's none of the above it should be fine.

Not electric boot, just shuts manually. Just sounds so tinny, not solid. Maybe just me expecting a more solid sound.

Yes the boot catch is adjustable.

The 'thunk' is created more by the weight of the door, or the boot lid, rather than the position of the boot mechanism.

All the focus from car manufacturers is to make the passenger doors thunk, bonnets and boot lids can often sound tinny.

Usually accompanied by the rattle of the plastic number plate too, for added 'cheapness'.
