body control module ( BCM) but which one

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

want to upgrade bits and bobs on my Octavia reg 60.

I want electrically moving drivers seat, electrically folding wing mirrors and was told by my guy I need ne BCM but there are loads of them with all different serial numbers.

my guy said that since the current seats and mirrors are manual the existing BCM is not able to control them, he said before BCMs were ready to take on anything but in my octy and newer cars they started using BCMs controlling only what is in the car to start with and if I want to upgrade I need a BCM which is able to control all those extra functions. Does anyone have any idea?

who is this guy?

you certainly don't need a different BCM for electric folding mirrors

It's my mate I trust him not to rip me off It seems that different BCMs support different functions, even on briskoda some one lists 8 different ones. Some support fog lights some don't ect. U think he is talking rubbish? If the vehicle did not have a function built in originally he says it will not support it

If you look at my build thread for my car you will see I know my stuff

You asked about folding mirrors and electric seats and not fog lights

posting a full vcds scan might also help too
