Hi guys,

 

Just trying to decide between Sportline Plus & L&K for my next car (whether new or used). I know the wheels are different designs (flat bottomed vs round) and have other pros & cons (standard heating but no paddles on the L&K for instance), but  purely looking at wheels size, are their basic diameters across the middle the same? 

 

I have looked around in the various Superb brochures, on here , elsewhere online, and by directly comparing pictures, but can't decide if the Sportline flat bottom wheel is actually slightly smaller than the L&K / SEL wheels. I assume that other than the standard heating, the L&K wheel is no different to an SE / SEL as well?

 

Also, is there any difference in the actual leather quality or feel, other than the 'dotted for extra pleasure' design of the SP  (which I personally don't like)?

They are the same size, personally I prefer the perforated leather of the SportLine wheel.... so I retro-fitted one into my L&K.

Sorry for jumping in but you can also get alcantara flat bottom from Skoda. Comes with or without paddle shift i believe. Have one in my sportline

 

Nice. There’s no option for Alcantara as a standard fit wheel on any UK Superb, so I’m assuming you mean you’d have to order one as a part? I probably wouldn’t bother with any retrofitting, I was mainly interested in the Sportline’s standard wheel vs L&K. I imagine Alcantara would be less durable than leather too. I assume the quality & style of the leather itself used on the two is the same?
 

I’ll probably end up with an L&K as the SP is too expensive with the options I’d want that are standard on the higher trim, much as I prefer the styling, seats & interior of the Sportline. I like the flat bottomed shape of the wheel, but hate perforated leather on wheels; smooth is much nicer. So as long as they’re the same overall diameter & can be heated with paddles & the same controls, I think I’d prefer the L&K wheel overall. 🙂
