Auto headlight sensor

Featured Replies

Just wondering if anyone knows about the fitting of automatically activated lights via replacement of the switch. The switch usually comes with a light sensor too. Can i get the same switch as the MK4 Golf/jetta for my mk1 Octavia?  Its the Big plug variant

You'll need a light level sensor, and a modified wiring loom, as well as a new headlight switch.

You can often find auto versions on either eBay or ali express, to fit certain Skoda models. (I have one on my Fabia). You might want to look out for a green backlight version though as VW's have red instrument backlights. If I remember correctly, I got a Yeti switch, with the front and rear fogs, then the module that does the work.

Am I right in assuming that the wiring remains the same in all models if the plug is the same? Or are they fussy..I have been thinking of replacing the original car cassette/cd changer too but if that's fussy too it's gonna be a pain

What year? The post-facelift Elegance & L&K trims had a radio-cassette head, and a 6 CD stacking in the LH rear arch behind the boot trim panel.

It's 2002 ambiente 1.9tdi facelift

obly "pain" with swapping Headunit is you will need to add an inline amplifier to the aerial, and add the power for it to the iso harness.

may need to swap a switched/permanent live also, i cant quite remember.

if you had the cd changer it wont work with non oem headunits.
