2016 VRS wagon - a few questions

Featured Replies

Hi all,

New member to this forum and a first time Skoda owner.

I have a 2016 RS wagon (162kw) DSG. I have noticed a bit of exhaust soot settling on the back of the bumper, a few days after cleaning. It can be brushed off easily but is frustrating.

After checking the fault codes it is showing the following;

1. 01-Engine control module 1 - U112300 - Databus error value received - passive/sporadic

2. 01-Engine control module 1 - P210000 - Throttle actuator control motor circuit/open - passive/sporadic

3. 5F-Information Control unit 1 - B200DF0 - Function restriction due to internal communication error - passive/sporadic

If any one knows what these faults relate to it would be much appreciated (I think the 3rd one relates to the radio). And whether the engine faults could be refering to an issue which is causing the exhaust soot.

Cheers,

Blake

162kw, so the 2.0 TSI petrol engine right?

Dark soot inside and just outside of the tailpipe is normal, mainly due to incomplete combustion, short journey's etc.

The estate (wagon?) versions of the Octavia are well documented for aerodynamics that lick the rear of the car with the exhaust emissions, there are lots of threads from panicking owners watching the clear condensation filling the rear window during hard acceleration.
