Yeti boot water leak solved

Featured Replies

I recently bought privately, a new to me 2012 Yeti Greenline, all seem fine with the car at first, then I notice there was  of condensation in the car. I found the tool area under the boot floor full of water.  I dried it out, but three days later day after rain it was full again. Having a look around the tail gate seal and the wiring loom entry points all looked OK, then I noticed  one of the torque screws that hold the gas strut was not flush with the bracket, I then checked all the screws and found them all lose. I removed them all, re fitted the brackets using silicon sealer and new hex stainless steel screws. After a few days  and a lot of rain I checked the boot and it was nice and dry. I did note that one fixing bracket appeared to have a gasket but the other none. My advice even if you do not have wet boot check the fixing screws anyway.

Hi Lenekenbad and welcome to Briskoda.

The sources of water ingress are notoriously difficult to trace so well done on tracing yours - and thank you for posting.
