Octavia 1 Estate Seats & Price

Featured Replies

Can any estate owners advise whether the rear seats fold to form a continuously flat loadbay floor in the Octavia 1 Elegance/L&K estate? I know they do in the Octavia 2 but I haven't got the budget for one of those. We have two big dog cages to get in and finding something without angled seatbacks or a 'step' is a nightmare - no Volvo's please!

Also, I have seen a 54 plate 23k 130bhp L&K on Autotrader at

Not a bad price, have been offered 10K for a 53 plate 110 LK with 34k as a trade in, so woulld imagine forecourt at 11,250. Never tried to get the seats flat tho, dog just gets trapped behind dog guard  Variable boot floor may effect wether seats go flat? will have to try sometime.

Pretty sure if you fold the rear seat bases up the backs then lay flat.

When you fold the seats on an Octy 1 estate, they sit flat, but about 3 inches higher than the boot floor.

On an Elegance, you get a false raised boot floor, which sits on top of the standard boot floor. This means that the 3 inch "step" is removed - the floor is pretty much flat from the hatch to the back of the front seats. It also gives a nice hidden storage area below the floor.

The false floor is a cost option (and after-market accessory) for other models in the range (not sure about the L&K - you'd expect it to have the extra if it's standard in the Elegance!). It costs about

Odd, as far as i know there is no difference in the vRS rear suspension/boot floor from a regular estate, they dont have the rear brace bars that the hatch has, hence 16" wheels as standard.

I have the folding floor in my Octy, but have only taken it out for cleaning. If you take the head restraints out from the rear and the seat cushions the you're left with a very flat surface when the seat backs are folded down. The other nice feature of the hidden floor space in the elegence is that it finishes level with the boot sill, so will make it easier to slide in your dog cages.

Loaded a variety of things into the back with relative ease; for example, a half sheet of plasterboard (900x1800) will fit perfectly in the back with the seats down.

To give you some idea on price, I've just sold my 03 TDI (110) Elegance Estate with 40K miles for

That's what I'd hoped, but the dealer told me otherwise. Have to pop in when they've got an elegance on the f/c to see if I can try it:)

Only downside is the sides of the back seat support get crushed when you put the seats down :-(
