VCDS problem in maxidot

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I a new man here,

A few days ago I make some modificacions in my Skoda Octavia MKIII with cable VAG12.12:

Enable cornering fogs (inc. vRS)

Enabling both rear fog lights

Change the number of flashes for the comfort (lane change) indicator

Enabling fan speed display in AUTO mode

Permanently disable Start/Stop

Enable passenger mirror dip on selecting reverse

Enable refuel quantity in Maxidot

After that, I do not know what I can did, but now, when I open the right doors, in maxidot appears left door and when I open the left doors, appears the right ones.

Anybody knows what I can do to modify it?
Thanks in advance.

Best Regards.

Hi, welcome to Briskoda

VCDS 12.12 is a very old version of the software (current version is 19.6.2), and usually pops up on pirate cables. If your cable is a legit Ross Tech, I would suggest update to the latest software and try  again.

Older Hex can usb cables are pretty well documented on the Ross Tech site as being unable to comunicate correctly with the later 2015 on modules in the newer VAG range, hence their new V2 cables and HEX NET interfaces, which may be part of the issue if your cable is the older type.

Hope it helps.

Did your cable come with VCDS software on a CD?

 Yes,

The cable was bought a few years ago, when the 12.12 was the updated version. I checked that the cable was compatible with my car, Skoda Octavia MY15.

I made the mofication above, and after that, the problem in Maxidot appeared. I am not sure if I changed any parameter by mistake while doing the coding.

You really should keep the VCDS software updated as there are regular bug fixes and feature enhancements. If you have the Spanish version then you must download the latest version from the importer website, but if you have the English version then you can download it from the Ross-Tech website (the Spanish version and English version can both be installed with no problems).

What cable do you have? If you bought it when 12.12 was the latest version then I'm guessing it's a HEX-USB+CAN? Which won't fully support all the modules in a MY2015 Octavia (which is what I have too), so you really should consider upgrading.

To help with your problem (which sounds like the car now thinks it is RHD not LHD) then you need to post the AdpLog.csv and CodingLog.csv files so we can see EXACTLY what you have changed. Those are text files which are stored in the Debug sub-folder e.g. C:\Ross-Tech\VCDS\Debug

Hi PetrolDave,

First of all, Thanks for your pront reply.

Attached you can find the archives that you say.

In any case, I will check them these log comparing them with the codes of each coding.

Thank for the help and if you see anything wrong, please tell me.
