Might be a bit too far for you, but I can highly recommend Derek Campbells in Stockton.

Thanks but yeah bit far that, fuel wise, tyres are at end of life but inside edge has worn down way more  one tyre, rears are fine, would I get away with just getin the front tracked? Was all fine untill it had clutch pack done at garage and seems to have stemed from there, crnt imagine they had anything off the car to do with alignment though

There is a website called alignmycar that allows you to search for local places.

The problem with just using the site is you've no idea of how good they are... The Hunter System may well be amongst the best in the world but it's still only as good as the person using it

I've not been on here for ages - basically since I moved away from the brand after my MkII Octy TSI engine gave up.

But to come to the point, I'm happy with the service I get from TyreSpot in Gilesgate for my current car.  Alternatively, might be worth having a chat with Swift Motor Engineering in Westerhope; Newcastle area?  They recently changed Wife's Seat Leon rear suspension arms and had the car 4-wheel aligned by A.N. Other nearby when setting it back up again.

Hope this is useful.

Hi everyone just to want to give a qwick update, so I went and bought some kyb rear springs and fitted them my self on my friends ramp, pleased I did as I can imagine the job being a nightmare in the floor with a jack, was lucky as the spring had snapped clean in half, dread to think what would have happened if it had came out if it's cup whilst driving!!! So after fitting I've noticed the rear of the car isn't as crashy over the bumps, seems like a softer spring than original, also it dsnt sit quite as low as the original springs but not high enuf that it is wanting me to change them, job sorted as far as I'm concerned, I have noticed the steering wheel is slightly to the right now though, would I need full 4 wheel alignment to correct that or would just a front tracking check do?? Thanks again for all the help and replys

I did the job on my car a couple of weeks ago on my drive as my offside rear had snapped in the middle and it is a fairly easy job if you remove the lower arm to hub bolt and then drop the lower arm. In my opinion it is also necessary to replace to two bolts if you remove them as they are stretch bolts and tightened to 90Nm + 90 degrees and they are not that expensive.

I have not noticed any change in the position of the steering wheel after I had fitted the springs.

This is my thread on the subject with a photo of where mine had snapped

That looks like a different spring setup than mine

It could be because I have fitted MAD helper springs inside the main springs to help with towing.
