light bulb changing

Morning Chaps

I'm new on here but just thought I would share this.

I've found that when you change a light bulb after the bulb failure comes on then when you turn the car and lights back on lots of lights don't work etc.

I think the CANBUS system cannot see the new bulb or something like that

But if you turn the car off then go under the bonnet and remove and then replace all the fuses one at a time (you don't need new fuses just the existing ones) then turn the car back on it seems to cure it.

All you need do is cycle the ignition after bulb replacement!

Tried that but sometimes it does work and sometimes it doesn't work so just go through the fuse ritual if the ignition doesn't correct it.

again thanks for the reply

Never had a problem after changing individual bulbs on mine..........

And removing fuses 'willy nilly' style can cause other issues. This from experience so I would not recommend this idea for a solution. if anyone else has a problem like @Redmonsta.

I guess what happened is that you removed the supply from whatever "computer" that needed a reset.

Many of us have had funny things happen which have been fixed by disconnecting the battery for a short time. In my case often a screw up in the bolero radio.

If you have the factory fitted radio then you don't need to worry about entering the radio code as it is supplied automatically on start up from storage in the dashboard display unit.

I wouldn't be pulling and replacing fuses, this can have undesirable effects such as triggering an airbag warning light that can only be extinguished with a diagnostics tool.
