SAT Nav arrow does not face direction of travel

Hi

I have recently become the owner of a 2019 VRS which has a SAT Nav.  The arrow which shows the car direction does not seem to have any logic?  Sometimes the arrow is moving across the screen sometimes down the screen, sometimes up.  I am used to the direction the arrow moving  upwards as if in the direction the car is going.  There have been occasions when the arrow is moving down the screen that I have contemplated doing a U-turn thinking I was going in the wrong direction.  Can anyone advise if there is a setting I have missed

There is a button which I believe is an arrow with a N on it to point you in the direction of travel which is what you want.

You can either lock North always be pointing up or for map to follow direction of travel by pushing the N on the screen.

Been out and checked, unable to drive the car just now but the arrow definitely changes direction depending on whether the North icon is locked or not, so all good
