Hi All

        I just done a search of the forum but I cant seem to find what I'm looking for ...!!

 

My car has a towing eye in the boot alright but nothing to screw it into. There does not seem to be any damage or sign of detachment where it should be ..  Now have I missed the elephant in the room and made a total gob****e of myself AGAIN ? 

 

What is it attached to and how is it attached ? - Surely not bolted...?  Pictures of a car with the bumper off would be very helpful !!

Have you looked on the other side?

Take a photo from a slightly lower position and I think you'll see it.

I took a snap as low as I could go and there is square slot at about 1 o clock in the picture is that where its supposed to be Wino ?

 

Just find it strange .. Maybe it got ripped off but they are very strong

 

Id like to get that fixed in fairness - Just in Case ...... !!

Are you sure that yellow bolt isn't a plastic cover type thing? Seems odd that it's yellow.

Spot on TMB. Will add a photo of ours, minus any yellow plug (never known there to be one on ours). Clockwise to unscrew plug if it's threaded.

Can't see the yellow plug on any parts diagrams either. Wonder if someone just bunged it in there. Might be off a different car or something.

At least the yellow plug ensured the threads are clean, I guess...

Well that was it alright! 

 

Seems that the "yellow cover" was painted up and even had a reverse thread !

 

Somebody went to great pains to mount it ! Well all good once again !
