DVLA - sneaky tax increase.

Featured Replies

Had my tax renewal notice through so I decided to do it online - got to the payment point and realised that despite the paper form having the old 12 month rate one it, the online system was asking for the new rate

So I went to the Post Offcie and saved a few quid.

Thought the new rate applied immediately so that kinda makes sense.

Good tip though Goochie if your tax rate has gone up, worth a sticky in the Octavia & Superb sections?

I did my wifes on line a couple of weeks ago and it was cheaper on line than on the form they had sent me to take to a post office or send them

A guy at my work got undercharged at his post office recently on car tax. He got into all sorts of problems with the DVLA saying his car wasn't taxed and they basically said it is the customers responsibility to make sure they are paying the correct amount.

Good link i am one of those who have had an 'incorrect' form sent out my states 165 but im sure it should be

Well, I was going to buy a 4x4 for about £50000, but now the tax has gone up by £25.00 I think I'll buy a Peugeot 1007!!!!

Does the government really think that the tax increase will stop people buying un-ecofriendly cars, or could it just possibly be a way of getting more revenue to spend on wars and hair cuts and make up and .................. mmmmm let me think about that and try to work it out!!!

I renewed my son's car tax for him yesterday at the local PO. The renewal form form said £93.50 for 6 months - I had to hand over £96.25.

My dads company have just retaxed there Van and 96quid instead of 93. All i can say is what a JOKE. but you could say 3quid isnt much. Also we would all be keeping quite if the tax form said 93quid and they said 90quid please Who would actualy say somthing??

Went to the post office with mine and they knocked a fiver off the price even though it said £115 on the renewal.

Now, what can I get for that fiver....

Sweets, england flag, air freshner and one legal to drive on pint
