Skoda Karoq New Car 5 Year Warranty

Featured Replies

As a part of the "deal" when I bought my Karoq in April 2018, it was agreed that I would have the New Car 5 year warranty, (Extended Warranty) for a contracted 2 year term, expiring in April 2023, Max mileage 100,000. It does not appear as a separate item on the receipt for the car. Nor did the 2 Years Free Servicing, which the dealership has honoured, both times after a bit of debate.

I was never given any booklet or information regarding terms and conditions of the Extended Warranty etc.

I have looked extensively online and cannot find anything to download.

Have any of you good people got any paperwork concerning this warranty?

All I have is the cars computer printout from the last two services, that says Extended Warranty Contract end 25-4-2023 and Mileage 100000 Miles.

Thanks

When they are open then get the Dealership to do their job.

Best contact Skoda UK as well, & get the stuff you should have.

Do not go by the bottom 'Extended Warranty',  that is Extended Warranties, those that can be purchased after the Manufacturers warranty expires,

yours is an Extended 2 years on the Manufacturers Warranty.

Thanks for the reply. I can only assume that the important bit is as quoted below, as no other information is available:

Unlike other warranties, our new car warranty can be extended to cover you exactly as a genuine ŠKODA factory warranty would for the full period of time that you have it. This means you can now get up to 5 years / 100,000 miles† cover for manufacturing defects.

Don't have the extended warranty myself but it was my undertanding you should have received documentation in the post approx 6 weeks after you purchased the car from Skoda acknowledging the extended warranty was in place.

Would have said contact Skoda as the warranty will be with them, but looks like they're already aware of it according to the service printout. That'd be enough evidence for me not to worry.

You need clarification if you have a factory or after sales extended warranty as per the posts above. The factory extended warranty is more comprehensive and has less exclusions. Important if you have a DSG fail on you perhaps.

I got it confirmed on my " New Vehicle Order Form " under factory options. Got no other info other than that as far as I am aware.

The 1 year or 2 year extension is bought with the car and has to be before the car is First Registered, not ordered at the same time as the car as some dealership employees say it has to be.
