Ocy Scout 2009 rear springs ?

Featured Replies

Hi All, while servicing my scout I have noticed one of the rear springs has a bit missing off the bottom (see pic), are they heavy duty springs or just standard ones, on eurocarparts  website it lists 4 standard and one heavy duty, now I do tow  a caravan so I am thinking about the HD ones so I presume they would fit ? Anybody know for sure ? Cheers Stuart

According to the gknautomotive.com online catalogue, 1K0 511 115 CS is the standard rear spring for the Skoda Octavia Estate 4x4 Scout 2010-2013, and 1K0 511 115 CT is the reinforced rear spring for the Skoda Octavia Estate 4x4 Scout 2010-2013. As you can see from the specification of each spring, the CR version is the softest, the CS version is a bit firmer, and the CT version is the firmest.

1K0 511 115 CR

Thickness
12,50 mm
Length
380 mm
Outer diameter
115 mm
Weight
2,40 kg

1K0 511 115 CS

Thickness
12,75 mm
Length
382 mm
Outer diameter
117 mm
Weight
2,60 kg

1K0 511 115 CT

Thickness
13,00 mm
Length
383 mm
Outer diameter
117 mm
Weight
2,80 kg

For comparison, this is the specification of the standard rear springs on the Skoda Octavia Estate TDI MK2 (not 4x4):

1K0 511 115 BF

Thickness
11,75 mm
Length
354 mm
Outer diameter
113 mm
Weight
1,95 kg

You can see that the 4x4 version uses much heavier duty rear springs than the two wheel drive estate, and for that reason you may find that the standard 1K0 511 115 CR rear springs are hard enough.

Brill thanks for that carlston, I was just looking on autodoc for all the different springs and there are some that have the same colour coding as the originals and size etc and there less than half price of eurocaparts  ! Cheers Stuart

On this page, scroll down and click on "United Kingdom". Another window opens. Repeat the process if you want to open two or more windows. Opening two or more windows is useful if you want to compare different springs.
