Unless I'm mistaken, the MK1 does not have this feature, it's only for the MK2 2006 onwards.

If you wanted that feature you'd need the AlienTech controller - http://www.alientech.net/

I did however find this;

Mine has this.  Does that mean I've got the controller hidden somewhere?  I'll have to look though the build thread and see if one was fitted at some point.

edit Mind you, I seem to remember my 06 plate Mk1 had it too.???😕

Using the standard fob, you hold down the unlock button and this rolls down the windows?

Well I found this:

MKM Lite 1.20 version can be used only in the cars with comfort units 1C0 959 799, therefore the third generation units. These units are in the following cars:

* Škoda Octavia / Octavia Combi – since vintage 05/2001

* Škoda Superb

* VW Passat / Passat Variant since model year 2001 (vintage year 2000)

* WV Golf / Golf Variant since model year 2001 (vintage year 2000)

* VW Bora / Bora Variant since model year 2001 (vintage year 2000)

* VW New Beetle since model year 2002 (vintage year 2001)

* Seat Toledo since model year 2001 (vintage year 2000)

* Seat Leon since model year 2001 (vintage year 2000)

I just tried on my late 54 and my late 55 and it doesn’t work. I have the 1C0 959 799 B. So I or anyone else would need to download the MKM Lite software and get it activated.

Yep.  I've even just been out and tried it again and it works both up and down off the standard fob.  I've had a look through the build thread on the car and there's no mention of it being fitted under Phil W's ownership.

Someone must’ve enabled it throughout It’s life. I may look at this at a later date and make a new up to date guide, but for now it’s of no interest to me.

Hope you sort it out Davo!

I suppose a lot will have happened in the last 17 years and however many owners.  Like you say, it's not really an essential feature but it is handy when trying to get some air into the car after it's been sat in the sun.

I've just done a quick video in case anyone is interested.

For anyone that is interested and loves nerdy things (especially coding) I found this old and very long post about the KVW100 unit, the main thing about this is that it locks your CCM unit as it rewrites data/values to it. So I would imagine that's what a few people have had done. Another way was through a serial port using MS-DOS via VDs-PRO (http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=161339).

Full story here:
https://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=282399

So really, the safest way is to use the old Alientech unit.

That's proper nerdy!  I could follow some of it but things like this are not my forte.  I'm happy the car has the feature but it sounds a bit of a faff to have it installed.
