PC with 2 monitors displaying same thing

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I've googled but struggling to find an answer. If I have a PC and want to have 2 separate monitors displaying the same thing simultaneously how would I do it? Equally is it possible to have the 2 screens do things independently of each other? I.e one screen is showing a film, the other is playing a game or something?

Thanks!

When you connect 2 monitors to your PC you will then get additional options within the display software. Will your present video card support two?

Its all in the display settings, you can have them mimic each other or have them split very easily.

Of course your system needs to be able to cope with the demands of driving 2 screens, especially if you want to play a game and watch a film.

Look in display/screen preferences/settings and look for a mirror displays option.

As has been said, for windows 10:

Start menu > Settings > System > Display

Then you should be able to see both monitors on that screen, select the screen labelled "2" in the diagram (or the one to the right) and below should be a drop down menu where you can choose to either Extend or mirror/duplicate the screen. Choose this and you should get both screens showing the same thing👍

Thanks all. I want to build a system for the car. A PC seems to make sense for what I want as I want passengers to be able to do separate things. My Jaguar has a built in entertainment system but my new car doesn't.

How would it be powered? Running off an inverter may do the job, but thats quite a few amps/volts to pull. even with the latest tech and low power you're talking 150W plus monitors. A laptop with a screen fitted to the HDMI/VGA out slot might be a better option?

Raspberry Pi as a low powered media machine. There are kits to add screens
