Maxi Dot??

Featured Replies

Anyone able to tell me what it is? the one I'm buying doesn't have it but I'm interest all the same....

If its any good can it be retro fitted?

Its the information panel in the dash binnacle. I can only go on the Superb, but it's very handy, and is numbers and text made up with little lights to say any amount of things.

Not sure if it can be retro fitted, as I would have thought the minimum required would be a new dash pod.

I thought the L&K Octy I came with it and as such you can probably fit it to a lower spec Octy. I'm sure you would need to replace many expensive parts to do so though and get keys reprogrammed etc.

There is a thread on it on here somewhere which is where i got that detail from.

As stated very useful and having got used to it other dashboards without it look they have something missing a a big blanking plate to me. IMHO.

Comes as a factory fit option so don't know on retro fitting it, mine came bundled with something else.

In Sweden all new Octy Elegance come with MaxiDot as standard, and as an option on ambiente. I had it on my "old" OctyII 2.0 FSi Elegance, and I also have it in my current OctyII vRS (where it's also standard).

It's a nice gadget that show all kinds of info e.g. fuel economy in various ways, avg. speed, speed warning, how many miles (km. in my case) worth of fuel is left in the tank, etc. You can also have the MaxiDot show the tracks from the Audience cd-changer.

Worth having in my opinion :)

Enhanced trip computer with hi resolution screen

Coloured Graphics for coolant/fuel/washer fluid low etc

Displays graphic of car indicating which doors are open

Displays warning messages like 'Handbrake on' 'please refuel' etc

Can display info from the radio eg volume, station name, track no. etc

Allows user adjustment of light assist settings (if fitted)

On/off control of convenience indicator

etc etc

Worth every penny and then some IMO

Glad I specced it then

Most of the information is displayed on the small screen under the speedo though.

Granted it's not as nice looking as the maxi-dot but it is there

According to the 1/1/06 price list maxi dot standard on L&K and optional extra on elegance, ambiente, VRS.

I have it on my L&K and it is much easier to read than what the equivalent display would be without it (as I noticed on the parking sensor display on the stream radio). So I would say it is worth having.

thanks for the feedback, the one I'm getting doesn't have it but as long as most of the information can be seen elsewhere then I'm not too bothered, would be nice if I had the option though.

Get my OctyII Elegance 8th May

Glad I spec'd it as an extra too

GO FOR IT

(as I noticed on the parking sensor display on the stream radio.

does it show the parking sensors aswell?

does it show the parking sensors aswell?

No, nor does ot give info about the climate control or display track information for mp3's (on the audience head unit) or radiotext.

True! The lack of information on mp3's is the only thing I really miss in the MaxiDot. Would have been an nice feature, since the mp3 playback is standard.
