Hey guys, I've been slowly progressing through my pickup project and the next part involves removal of the dashboard. 

 

I've used a very detailed post on this forum to get where I am up to now however I've come up against an issue I can't work out. 

 

I've removed the steering wheel and the bottom cover of the steering column but I just can't seem to get the top half off.

 

I don't want to force it as I want to keep it and also I don't want to bend the instrument panel surround either. 

 

I tried to find a height adjustment switch or button but couldn't spot it. 

 

Could someone shed some light on the issue please?

You need to slacken 4 nuts of 2 brackets that hold the steering column from below.

You'll then be able to make room for getting the top half off.

Thank you Ricardo, I wasn't aware of the extra nuts and as soon as you pointed it out it was easy! Managed to carry on and sort everything out and put it back good as new! Although I fear I may have to take it out again in order to have it recovered but at least I know how to do it now!
