Help with fault code P023B?

Featured Replies

I have fault code P023B showing on my 1.6 TDI CR (163k miles).

I think it might be something to do with the auxiliary coolant pump having an open circuit.  Hopefully not the water pump as the timing belt was changed not that long ago.

Can anyone confirm? Thanks.

The fault code is for the electronic coolant pump, the pump is a 3 wire setup (this is an example as I don’t know your engine code)

1) 12v feed

2) PWM signal to pump (this allows the current to flow from 1 to 3)

3) Earth

Hi. I had the electric coolant pump replaced but it turned out it was a broken wire as the code came back. So I would check the wiring before buying a new pump.

I’m not sure what the part number was but he got a good deal on an original part from TPS.
