Difference between Scout and 4x4 models of Octovia/Superb

Featured Replies

Hello.

1st time poster here. I've tried to find out online as much about the difference between 4x4 and Scout models as I can. MkIII's and IV. But can't help but think I'm missing something. (Potential Skoda purchase for Swedish driving). Thanks for any help. Skoda's website couldn't be less useful - just an assault of marketing spiel rather than actual engineering fact....

Are these the only differences:

Scout over a 4x4; selectable full-time AWD (not purely auto-AWD), plastic trims, underbody protection, slight ride height increase but only via wheel/tyre sizing, softer suspension set-up (?), electronic display of quasi useful '4x4' info.

Am I missing anything?

If you were to get a Octy/Superb for Swedish city, motorways, gravel unmarked roads, snow, ice, slush and where-ever I end up pushing it to where I dare on my job (film crew), what would you go for? 4x4 or Scout?

Welcome to the forum.

If you want ground clearance than as well to go for a vehicle with that, and that might well be a 4x4 with high and low ratios rather than a AWD / Haldex equiped car.
