Amundsen RNS 315

Featured Replies

we have a mk 2 bought new in 2013 with 28000 miles and I've only now decided to upgrade the radio. Lurking around the forum reading the back posts I think I understand that what I'm looking for is a Skoda Amundsen RNS 315 plus with DAB and bluetooth already fitted and enabled. However I've noticed one used radio for sale with Bluetooth but marked " that the bluetooth only works in bluetooth enabled cars" which has thrown me. Can anyone explain if the RNS 315 plus with bluetooth enabled can simply be fitted and paired to your mobile or is further hardware necessary??? Thanks in advance.

Only some RNS-315 headunits have BT built in. The easiest check is to find the part number sticker on the headunit, if the MAC is 00:00:00:00:00:00 then it does not have BT. If it's any other number, it should have BT fitted :)

If an RNS-315 hasn't got BT built in, you can add a seperate BT module as you would with other headunits of a similar generation.

Hi, yes I checked the MAC addy and it would appear to have bluetooth fitted - It was just the sellers comments that the bluetooth only works in bluetooth enabled cars which puzzled me and set me wondering if its simply  a case oof fitting the radio and pairing it to your mobile??

I guess it depends if the seller is using a picture of the actual headunit or just a stock image... Might be worth checking?

Assuming the RNS-315 is correctly coded for your car, the only extra thing you're likely to need is a microphone for calls.

I had to purchase a GPS antenna too, Is it true some 315'S don't come with Bluetooth? I purchased one second hand and plugged it in and away it went ,no problems at all.
