Service information,

Featured Replies

I'm currently looking at buying a Superb from a dealer but they are struggling to get any service information on the car as there seems to be no service book anymore and it's all online, is this correct and how do you access it? I have heard it can also be difficult to obtain due to data protection. Cheers

I had this issue when I bought mine. The dealer said only they could access it.

Try the MySkoda app, I can get my full service history with vin number and car reg

I actually when on the chat on the Skoda website and just using the reg number I was able to get all the info I needed including service intervals for the cambelt and DSG, was amazed that the flexible servicing was 20k or 2 years!!😮😮😮

Thanks for the information. I have signed up to the app and I am comparing the online info to the paperwork given to me by the dealer when I bought the car.

The paperwork shows it was serviced at 22k. I bought the car at 22.5k, so I thought great.

The online info shows it was last serviced at 13k on the same date!

I'm wondering if the dealer has doctored the paperwork to shut me up.

I just been to view the car I'm interested in, having it actually, when playing with the car section on the menu I found a screen that told you when it was serviced, how many miles at time of service, how many miles to next service and also date of next service. Hope that helps

Can I ask whereabouts that was? I'm going to be buying my lease car in a months time and this has always bothered me. Fine for the time I have but what about when I sell it on?

It's a system I am really not comfortable with.

To be honest I can't really fully remember, I was viewing the car and playing with the infotainment system, I think it might have been the button on the right marked "Car" just stumbled on it really.

The Online and if you can check the car system is fine, but just because someone put into the system that a service was done does not mean it was.

Get the paperwork from the Service Desk when you collect the car and keep that, invoice / receipt, parts / consumables.

& ask for the print out on the past history, warranty claims, service campaign work.

Those that go on about Data Protection need to remember that the cars information on servicing and maintenance is for the drivers & public and drivers safety and if they need to hide names and addresses then do that.

I decided to download the app and that has the info on there. It has an export info option so I will check that out.

Next question up is what if you get your car serviced outside of the skoda network? Does the info get uploaded still?

There are VW Independent Specialists with Licensed Equipment that gets the TPI's / Service Campaign updates and can put the Service Information on the System.

The ones i know have Ex Master Techs from the VW Group Dealerships and are among the best you can find.

All the gear and more than just an idea, and actual ability to diagnose and carry out repairs.  Not just fitters.
