Skoda Citigo rear speakers Help needed

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, please don't judge me cause I've started yet another thread about rear speakers, but I come across the problem with mine. So I decided to install pair of speakers in to my 2012 3 door citigo. I did read what I believe every single post about this topic and decided to take on this challenge. So I did remove rear seats and manage to remove plastic trim, but what I find out that theres no where for me to install (mount) the actual driver in to. cause behind all that plastic theres nothing there. so my question would be is there a part of some sort that I need to get in order to install rear speakers? or how do other members manage to install them?

many thanks

Laurie

I think you might need to get some replacement rear side panels with the speaker grilles in. The speaker should then attach to the back of the panel.

Looks like there is some kind of holder for the speaker that goes behind the panel. Like this; https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Skoda-Citigo-Speaker-Holder-Left-1S3035243b/143542221458?hash=item216bc87a92:g:xhAAAOSwYDZeVXK1

As per @SimonJ
post, you will need to get speaker holders/infill panels. Unfortunately, despite of our interrior trim having a meshed area for the speakers, there is nothing behind. Part numbers needed are as follow 1S3035243 and 1S3035244 (don't remember which one is left or right) however you will need both. If you are lucky, these parts may come with OE speakers already fitted if you decide to go for second hand items. Please note, that OE speakers are actually riveted to the holders. Additionally you will need to get hold of push-rivets  (VAG part nos N91158501) and you will need about 5 or 6 per side and these are bloody expensive from your local dealer. You will be better of getting replacement from Aliexpress, just make sure they will be right diameter otherwise your speakers will rattle a lot. I think, if I remember correctly, the required diameter is around 6 or 8mm, just please don't quote me on it as I'm not 100% sure... I think I may have some spare left.

And finally, vcds coding maybe required to your radio, to tell your car that you have 4 speakers now, that's providing that you are still using an OE head unit.

Typo, broken link

You could do what I did which was extremely tacky but 100% worked, I literally just cabled tied the speakers in place!
