Octavia 1.8 tsi dq200 tune

Featured Replies

I would like to tune my Octavia and it comes with the dq200 which is known to have a 250nm toroqe limit. now, I have done some research here and there and some people seem to claim that this transmission can handle a lot more.

Is that true ? Because if so I would like to go ahead with the tune! please let me know and if possible I'd like to hear from people who have actually their octavias as well, in regards to the reliability and safety of it and all

I have my engine remap and DSG remap done by Celtic Tuning. Not a bad tune (had an issue with the car and thought it was the tune) but was the car.

lots more power. In Manual mode the gear will not change and will hold the gear until you change it. In Normal “d” mode it’s pretty similar but the Revs when the gear actually changes Is a little higher. It will also hold on to second gear unless I come to a full stop. Sport mode is more aggressive than manual mode (to me anyway). Look for someone that will let you test the car once it’s done. Would recommend getting an engine remap if your going to have the DSG tune as well. If your going to do it make sure the engine and DSG tune are done by the same company as their software would have been produced together to give you the best tune.

@Aliii Welcome to the forum.

People do not just claim that the DQ200 can handle more than 250Nm, there are members in the Mk2 Fabia section with 1.4 TSI Twinchargers that have a standard 188-185ps and remap to 205-220ps and 300 Nm plus.

Be aware of issues that can occur with a DQ200 though. You can get uprated clutches.

There is Service Campaign '34H5' for some DQ200's from 2013-2015.  A software update because of heat / pressure problems so a preventative measure.

Now in Australia there is a recall on some DQ200 from 2009-2016, similar to '34H5',  maybe cars as well that were missed in the World Wide Recall in 2012, then cars late 2012 that had Mineral oil from the factory that are prone to the 'Flashing Spanner' issue.

@Madmax889

What DSG are you talking about the one with your 220 TSI or did you have a car with a DQ200 7 speed twin dry clutch DSG?

Would it handle the 360nm that the engine will produce after I get stage 1 on my car? I've heard that its better to upgrade my clutch plates to Kevlar ones

@Aliii

I doubt it if you were to be using 360Nm from launch.  You are going to have to upgrade the clutch packs at the very least.

?

What are you doing to your 1.8TSI to be able to get 360Nm from it or anything even near that?

This members 1.4TSI Twincharger has a DQ200 DSG.

@Roottootemblowinootsoot

I'm getting aprs stage 1 ecu and tcu tune which boosts the the engine to 220hp and 360nm torque at the very least

@Aliii

Simple then, just talk with your trusted APR Dealer doing the Remap.  Their business should be selling customers what they want and what the drivetrain can handle.
