ADBLUE

Featured Replies

Someone said to me whilst filling up "don't you use ADBLUE?. That got me as I have never heard of it. When I use to have a motorhome I did use MILLERS oil which was supposed to be best additive . Why does we not use it on Skoda?

It was only introduced from 2015 firstly on the Mk3 Superb but later Octavia, Kodiaq etc. The giveaway is when you open the fuel flap there is a blue cap to the left of the diesel cap, so 2 caps in total.:thumbup:

@pastiche

AdBlue is not an additive to the fuel system it is for the exhaust / emissions.

well, i hope the guy who asked you isnt putting the adblue in the fuel tank :D

its part of an SCR emmissions reduction system which is an alternative to the DPF system vag have been (and still are?) using.

Its not an alternative, its 2  different systems with different aims. Adblue injection and the catalyst reduces NOx, the DPF still there removing particulates.

I think the DPF is still the first thing down stream of the turbo with the Adblue system fitted after.
