Citigo phone answering

Featured Replies

Morning all,

We are thinking about buying a 2016/66 Citigo se l with the newer swing style radio.

Apparently it has Bluetooth so I am wondering how you answer the phone or make a call. No steering wheel controls like our Octavia.

Thank you

I've the same and without the steering wheel controls it's fairly useless.  Answering is fairly simple, to answer you need to press the button below where it says answer on the screen.

To make a call you need to push the phone button on the radio then spot the tiny icon to say what you want to do then scroll through to the desired number (you can pre program a few but it doesn't really cut down on button presses) and press dial.

By the time you've finished fumbling around with the stereo you've probably crashed.....

Thanks for replying. I did wonder if that was going to be the case.

Anyway my wife likes the car we are going to buy so we will find out soon enough.

I have an Octavia with phone on the steering wheel which is great.

I suppose the safest way to chat on the phone is by stopping when safe.

Thanks

If you're buying a Citigo with the newer style radio it's honestly very easy to take and make calls over Bluetooth.  I use it all the time.

Bar far the easiest way is to use the Move&Fun app on your phone in the cradle atop the radio so you don't have to mess around with the radio itself.   It's not perfect but it's definitely usable on the go

Hi,

Thanks. My wife has been trying to use it, but it the app does seem rather inconsistent. The satnav doesn't seem to work very well according to her, but i am not sure if she is using it correctly. I will have to have a go myself one day.. From what I can gather the app isn't great.

Well I'd definitely agree with your wife the app is pretty terrible, it's just a re-skinned one for the VW UP!  [They didn't even bother to change the Bluemotion graphic to the Drive Green leaf on the widget which irrationally annoys me]  Connection issues too and the sat nav is also terrible.  I just use Google maps, it's infinitely better all round.

But for making phone calls and receiving them it's alright and is better than the radio, which I don't think would be possible to use while driving.  You can save a few favourites which makes things a lot easier.
