Engine bad knocking

Featured Replies

So today start car fine go to drive away sounded very rattley and slight loss of power 5 or 6 seconds later it's fine

Drove 10 miles to my destination stopped car then restarted it and a almighty banging on acceleration through every gear and get to 40mph feels like the engine guna jump out

It's a skoda 2010 2.0 tdi pd scout

It sounds like a motor bike on tick over pop pop pop through the air filter so I took the housing off and sounds like bad Harley Davidson really loud popping

All diesels sound like that. Might be worth checking underneath to make sure an exhaust bracket hasn't snapped. This happened to me once and it was worse going through the gears as the revs increase and then drop when you press the clutch.😉

No pal this is definitely in the engine

It is as if there someone  under the bonnet smacking the engine with a lump hammer it is bad

I think you might be needing to look for either another engine, or another car, unfortunately.

Hope I'm wrong.
