Xenons

Featured Replies

Hi all, currently looking at mk2 pre vrs's, ideally want one with xenons.

Am I right in thinking that if it has washer jets, it's got xenons?

Or was there an option to choose headlight washers as a winter pack?

Not sure on VRs but on my Elegance, has headlamp washer jets, but with standard halogen projectors.

If it's a vRS and has headlight washers then yes it has xenons.

In the UK the only mk2 pre facelift model which came with headlamp washers as standard equipment WITHOUT xenon headlights is the Elegance. I think when the facelift came in, the Scout also got them.

All others only got headlamp washers if they were fitted with xenon headlights, and they were not available as a separate factory option although it is possible to retrofit them (either into the existing bumper, as the cut-outs are marked) or by just installing a bumper that already has them.

With the pre FL the xenon headlights are visually identical to the halogen headlights from the outside, with the only difference being that there is no headlight range adjustment dial in the cabin (next to the headlight switch)

The pre-facelift 4x4 and scout also had headlight washers without xenon headlights.

Also the early L&K models came with headlight washers but they didn't get xenons as standard until around 2008.

You can see this one doesn't have xenon as it has the height adjustment wheel, but it has washers.
