Wiring guide for retrofitting front pdc

Featured Replies

Are anyone aware of a wiring guide for retrofitting front pdc sensors?

currently i have the 4 rear ones.

i found multiple kits for retrofitting front pdc, but none of them seem to include any wiring instruction (as in what route the cables go, and what plugs they need to be fitted in).

If you go onto Erwin you can print out the wiring diagrams. There are also guides. I suggest looking at Body Work and Electrical System.

I purchased a Front PDC kit which I recently retrofitted. A few points:

- I purchased from cars-equipment and didn't actually have a chance to get the kit fitted for some months. Some of the wiring loom plugs were not suitable for my car (LED lights) so I had to redo the wiring loom (basically removing those plugs and associated wiring, but leaving the PDC wiring and plugs)

- It is a massive pain in the backside to get the loom from the engine bay into the cabin, but there is a small rubber nipple just below the point where the main wiring enters the cabin, located behind the battery. I eventually got it through there.

- One of the wiring looms included the wiring for rear PDC. Because I already had rear PDC, I had to do some pin changing from one plug to another. Get a good set of pin removal tools.

- You will need to cut out the holes for the sensors. I HIGHLY recommend getting the official Skoda tool (BEA 000 001). It made life very simple. I have mine going spare now.

Those are the main points. You need to do some contorting in the front footwells at time, combined with some swearing and frustration, but it's nothing that a competent person couldn't do on their driveway.
