Xtrons PBX99MTVL advice

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm looking to get rid of the Bolero from my 2009 Octavia VRS Limited Edition, I have been looking for a few weeks now at the Xtrons PBX99MTVL  https://xtrons.co.uk/vw-seat-skoda-various-android-9-0-pbx99mtvl#:~:text=XTRONS PBX99MTVL employs 4GB of,faster execution of processor instructions. .

Looking at the spec on the unit , it looks pretty good but for all my trying I cannot find any reviews on the head unit, tried Google, YouTube etc but no luck.

What I would like to know is, has anyone tried this unit and if so, how good is it, is it reliable, does it need a new facia, just things like that.

Thanks in anticipation

I've got an Xtrons stereo, not the model you've linked to but similar.

The one you linked to has the PX5 CPU, which is slightly older (current model is the PX6, which isn't as common as the PX5) but it has 4gb of ram which will be a lot better than the ones that come with only 2gb.

If you're going from the Bolero you will need a new fascia to swap over as that Xtrons uses the Columbus type shape.

Generally speaking I'm very happy with my Xtrons stereo. It has a few quirks but in terms of functionality it's streets ahead of the Columbus, and even further than the Bolero, and cheaper than the Columbus too.

Thank you very much for that piece of info.

I find EXtrons website a bit confusing to say the least, I will be changing over soon, just wanted to know a bit more about about Extron as I could not find a review on the PBX99MTVL at all.

Thanks again...
