Rear taillight no power, only 1

Featured Replies

Just bought a car to sell on, the nearsid rear tail light does not work. It has no power, I have ran a temporary live to the side that has no power and it is now working fine but the bulb warming light is still illuminated..?

I will be looking for the issue at the weekend I suspect its obviously a broken wire, no blown fuses etc.

1. Why is the bulb warning light still on when I have piggy backed off the working tail light? Is the canbus really that intelligent?

2. Can the 3rd brake light at the top of the boot cause a bulb warning light as that doesn't work I noticed after putting my tools away!

Thanks!

If you Google the following phrase, in quotes just like here "check warning concerning bulb failure"

the results will lead you to copyright-shredding copies of a wiring diagram pdf. Early in this document there are flow-chart fault-finding diagrams for a few systems including bulb failure  warning.
