Replacement DSG gear knob?

Featured Replies

The chrome on my gear knob is coming away, leaving it feeling very rough to use, a common problem I believe, so I'm thinking of replacing it.

Has anyone done this, and is it a straightforward job?

Also, do any other VAG/MQB parts fit, as I know a lot of things are interchangeable? Could be a good excuse for a small upgrade...

Same as mine!

Would like the one that Golf Mk7 has, anyone know if it fits?

I've filed it down with a nail file and it feels much better now, not ideal, but needs must, lol! 🤣

I would be very interested in the outcome of this. Mine is the same. Can they be replaced under warranty if they are peeling away I wonder? 🤔

Mine turned 3yrs old in February so it's out of warranty unfortunately, but it should be covered?

I've replaced mine, with an original part bought from carz equipment. It's not that straightforward. Went to a garage and they did it for me. 160E part because of the VRS logo and 20E work labor.

I had mine changed under warranty, the edge on mine was quite sharp.
