Featured Replies

Hi have been on site before to see about this issue and if its covered under manufacture warranty I've see mixed reviews just to let fellow members know I currently own a 67 plate octavia 2.0 sel diesel and use as a private hire taxi I had a advisory back in feb before lockdown when getting a tyre replaced my mechanic who is skoda trained said take to dealership your strut is misty on the off side front strut and particularly poss leaking on the near side front arranged over lockdown and took to my local skoda dealership today june2020 and have just had confirmed that nearside strut has been replaced under warranty so it is a manufacturer warranty issue staff were great and also got a video of the work and health check of the car did advise front pads but jo hard push for them to do just offered a price obviously I refused my dealership is skoda/seat at linwood Phoenix paisley and cant fault these guys when its came to any warranty issues had a 64 plate skoda superb before and had a issue with boot opening was sorted on good faith obviously myself using the veichle as a taxi and have always been treated well I assume I will have to replace off side front strutt at some point but just to let you know of my succsess  have joined today as it's always my first point of call when looking for any issues

'Misty' full stop button too, it appears. 😁

I have had an advisory on my n/s front strut at the last service, it’s also a PHC (17 plate).

My 30k 63 plate Golf GTi also has had the same issue with one being changed twice already.

Either the appalling roads or VW using junk.

Hi was only posting earlier to alert members its maybe a dealership problem rather than a skoda problem if successful in getting them replaced under warranty apologies for the grammer🧐

Before last June’s MOT I had a trusted mechanic warn of a potential failure due to the misting of the strut. I decided to get them changed to be on the safe side, not overly impressed that after 4 years of non excessive use should cause a failure. Will see how long the new ones last...

it passed this years MOT with no issues...
