Intermittent boost fabia vrs 1.9tdi

Featured Replies

Hi there I’ve recently had my car mapped and it kept playing up on the dyno running fine hitting boost and then not hitting but they couldn’t solve it so brought it home and it’s like it’s flat and holding back and then you let off and apply pressure to throttle it works perfectly fine and boosts but comes and goes when it works where should I start someone said the solenoid valve block could cause it

Thankyou 🙏🏻

Was the fault present before the remap or did it start during the remap?

If during the remap then they have cocked something up and need to remove whatever junk they put on your car for free.

It sounds like they've wound the boost up slightly too much and the ECU is flagging it as overboosting.

OBD dongle and Torque - which I run on an old Android phone in a holder on the windscreen - gives real time data including boost values. You may be able to log this data in Torque. This can also be used for voltage, water temperature etc to identify other issues - I recently had a failing battery and was able to identify battery voltage prior to starting, and charging voltage once running.

If you are IT savie, it is possible to download your map via MPPS and then review it under VAG EDC15PSuite to identify boost target written into map.

UNLESS YOU ARE CONFIDENT AND FULLY UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE DOING, DO NOT TRY THIS AS YOU CAN WIPE YOUR ECU AND IT IS ASSUMED THAT YOU WILL NOT HAVE A COPY OF YOUR ORIGINAL MAP FOR RECOVERY WHICH MAY STILL NEED SPECIALIST (EXPENSIVE) SUPPORT.

Hope the above does not appear patronising, you just need to be aware of the implications of getting it wrong.
