Amundsen Information

Featured Replies

I have a Skoda Rapid Spaceback 2018, it looks like I have got to purchase a 32gb sd navigation card, the one fitted in the car is the old version 16gb card. I have done a bit of browsing, and I need to know what version of Amundsen I am using.
Does anyone have instructions how to find out which one I am using?

You may be able to find out in the settings on the unit, better still maybe a picture posted

Could be better if you also posted in the ICE section, quite a few knowledgeable members re that subject will browse that section.👍

The 16Gb card you curently have is sduitable for the latest maps, Skoda lie...

Alternatively, if you desperately want a 32Gb card I have one for sale.

Hi Rustynuts,

If I took out the original 16gb card, and then try to download the latest update onto that card, I then find that the card is to small for the update. Would the original card still work, after a failed download. I hope you can see what I mean!

If you save the "Maps" folder in its entirety first (drag & drop onto your desktop) then you can always restore it back onto the SD card later if the new maps fail. But I have about a dozen cards here, all 16Gb, and all with the latest maps loaded on them with 648Mb spare.

I just did this ok on a 16gb card.. It does indeed say this will no longer work on the website but it does.. it JUST fits but it fits.. Simply MOVE the data from the card to your computer for backup. This will remove it from card and then you can copy the update to it. You must first decompress the zip on your computer and copy that data to SD. do not copy the zip to SD and try to decompress it. Worked for me..

1. MOVE, not copy, all data from NAV SD card to your computer. (Your SD card should now be empty)

2. DECOMPRESS the downloaded NAV.zip file on to your computer.

3. COPY the decompressed contents to the SD card.
