02 oxygen sensor

Featured Replies

Has anybody got any  bother with the 02 oxygen sensor on top of the cat i keep getting a fault light i was told to drill a 10mm hole down threw the cat will it solve the issue or should i buy a new sensor at 60 pounds

I sure as hell wouldn’t drill the cat unless you want a big bill.

Are you using any fuel additives and have you checked the wiring?

If it is faulty, then you’ll probably see fuel economy improvements to pay it back quickly.

Also I assume coils etc have been checked too.

Am affaird if i buy a new oxygen sensor and car still does the same how long does a sensor last or many miles can u do on them

I changed two in quick succession pre and post on a car around 100k.

They’re not too expensive from the after market suppliers.

Aye can get one for 60 pounds ive took mines out a few times and cleaned it. It does a while but i think ill bite the bullet and buy a new one now how many miles are they supposed to last

No idea, I drive diesels, but unless you contaminate them with something in the fuel/oil etc, I would think a good while.

Take it the exhaust doesn’t have any holes near either sensor that shouldn’t be there?
