Just bought fabia

Featured Replies

Just bought a 2009 fabia 1.9 tdi sport for £2000 , think it’s a good buy at that price , anything I need to look out for/worry about? I’ve read a few horror stories re con rods breaking free through the block but it’s only certain engine codes , mine is a BSW code , am I doomed or ok? Any advice would be much appreciated.

If it was the one from Chico's, Plymouth, Autotrader says it was a great price. Higher then average miles but a good deal.

I am sure you will get feedback regarding the engine etc. Be aware, many Skoda (VW branded cars) Are very unhappy with incorrect spec oil and do not go over the oil change schedule. Generally, the Fabia is a great little car.

1.9tdi PD105... you'll be fine!!

Change the oil and filter every 10k and the engine will outlive every thing else on the car. My family put 190k on a mk1 1.9 sdi and the engine was fine when we sold on. This engine was the taxi drivers favourite in the octavia before euro 5 regs often reaching 250 to 300k.
