Just spoke to Fish Bros - and my vRS has arrived. Though it was being built last week - so wasn't expecting it just yet. It's got to be registered etc. so it will be a few more days before I get the keys.

I'm very pleased to find out it has arrived, early. Just hope the chap on the phone hasn't confused mine with someone elses!!!

Nice one ! What colour & spec ? (you did choose Silver didn't you)

Colour was tricky. I currently drive a Mk3 Golf GTi Colour Concept in yellow - with a fantastic full recaro factory fit leather yellow/black interior. I looked at the Fabia yellow - but it's a bit too soft for my tastes (yellow can look very good and also very bad). So in the end decided not to go with yellow. I never buy red. Red looks great - especially on the Fabia with the chrome grille - but having had a E-reg polo as my first car in red/pink/brown - and all other sun bleached shades of red - decided to stay well clear. Silver. I like silver. Some cars - the TT, Aston's, Porsche's look great in silver. Others - especially the dullest car in the world (Toyota Avensis) - don't look at there best. Silver on the Fabia looks great - and shows off the front vents nicely. But I like the contrast with a darker colour with the chrome grille - so my choice ended up with Black Magic.

Second part (can only post so much through the firewall).

I've never owned a black car before - I know there are some problems (shows the dirt, visibility to other drivers etc), but it does look smart. Silver & Black seem to be the most popular - so I also wanted to pick something that would be easy to eventually sell on. Silver, it's sooooo popular - I really like something different. If the yellow on the Fabia was better - I might have been tempted - but after a lot of soul searching - went with black.

Options, well, went for the PAB deactivation, heated seats, and Xenons. Didn't go for ESP :eek:

I drive 120 miles a day - so wanted a car with economy; performance (overtaking on country lanes, motorways etc); comfort; and high residuals.

Can't wait - it is going to be Fab...!

Just hope it's not riddled with problems like other unfortunate owners have experienced on the '06 model.

I should be picking up the '05 Silver VRS fish bros have for sale on Saturday, can't wait!

Gets you wondering what other colours they should do - for the vRS.

Personally, I like it when the top spec cars in a range come in exclusive colours only. A strong blue, or even white (candy white) would look good IMHO.
