Hello to you all ! 

 

I'm a happy owner of a Kamiq TDI 116 hp since beginning of 2020.

 

Since approx. the begining, i randomly heard a cracking sound from passenger door. sometimes it's loud and very disturbing, sometimes it's very low and sometimes there is absolutly nothing.

And i can't find a way to make it appear when i go to my skoda dealer, so everytime i go, as you guess, i take the car technician for a ride but there is no sound ...

But when i get back home, sound getting back too...

 

So, i found another topic from 2014 with almost the same problem but on a Skoda Superb , but i can't find any info on Kamiq.

Does anyone ever get this problem too ? 

I will try to send a video with the sound.

Does it sound like a creak or a soft squeaky rattle?

 

I had a repair done by an insurance approved repairer and I have this soft irritating noise that most days doesn't occur but in hotter, dry weather drives me mad. I believe it's down to the door not being exactly seated properly. as it appears to come  form the door frame rather than the door or its internal mechanisms. It's already gone back to the repairer twice and its going back again a third time (but it's not Skoda's fault).

For my point of view, i think it's located on the black thing inside just next to the right mirror.

 

I tried to capture it in video but when i read the video with my phone i can easily hear the noise, like a vibrating thing. But when i read it with my PC, i cant' hear the noise, only a little bit is heardable at the beginning.

 

I think i will try to disassemble the door this week end...

Don't dissemble anything your warranty could be void let them sort it

  have you tried to listen to the little speaker in the A pillar next to the mirror if it is blowing 

I think I have something similar in my New Kamiq...try applying some pressure to the panel just next (right) to the steering wheel ... see if it helps... I haven't sorted my issue yet but it seems it reduces the noise...

Interesting indeed. Picked my new Kamiq up today, similar noise in mine too. I hate cars that squeek or rattle. Hope It is fixable.

Took my better half out after I got home. "Why does it say Passenger Airbag off?"

So much for pre delivery inspection.

Otherwise car seems good. Time will tell........

They did not know that you could have had a child with you. That's not a pre delivery inspection item. up to you to turn it on

Sorry, have to differ. Passenger airbag should be on. Only off if child car seat installed. We had driven about 10 miles before my wife noticed the warning by the mirror.

Yes I should have seen it but I didn't. 

 @vincentv any update on the ticking sound ? Mine comes and goes, lately gone....

Mine seems to have gone. Very odd. If it comes back I'll take it to the dealer.

I've opened my door and tried to apply some foams where i thought the noise cames from but unfortunately ABSOLUTELY no changes...

 

So i called SKODA again and will take my Kamiq to them and try to resolve that...

 

The fact that it is random, it just **** me off ! I can't find a way to reproduce when needed.

 

The ticking sounds I experienced were definitely not from the door.

 If you read my other post you ll see that, for me, the noise coming from passenger door and near rear mirror.

But, for the moment, im not able to Tell where exactly. It's located near this Area. 

FYI all, the ticking sound in my Kamiq has gone .. for now 🤞
