  1. And today its back working !! using apple car play seems to be a bit like owning a TVR, it stops working for no reason, come back to it a few hours later and its ok !
  2. Today the music function in Apple CarPlay stopped working. Maps, phone etc fine but no music. the system opens up and then immediately closes down and goes back t the menu. Still works on my wife's phone using the older apple CarPlay system. Just weird!
  3. I have got the smell of the clutch slip when putting the car into reverse (DSG gearbox) and trying to reverse onto my driveway quickly, this is because the reverse gear takes time to properly engage and when in a rush it is easy to get cracking on the accelerator before the gear (clutch) is engaged. Net result no movement initially followed rapid backwards movement and the nasty smell. Not a criticism of the car more my driving technique (and lack of patience).

No the infotainment system does not need to be turned off. it shuts down completely when the ignition is turned off.
  5. It was fitted by Allams of Epsom
  6. It was fitted by the dealer when I bought the car cost £50 from memory. has saved the paint on the bumper being ruined by the dogs as they jump in an out
  7. sorry should have read working cocker spaniel, not woking !
  8. One of the reasons for buying the Kamiq was the arrival of our dog, a Dalmatian, meant that the boot in the UP GTI just wasn't going to work. Having got a second dog (woking cocker spaniel) I decided the boot was getting too messy and covered in dog hair so researched boot liners. I splurged out on a Titan Boot liner with their additional bumper flap and cover for the back seats to stop the build up of Dalmatian slobber on the rear head rests. At £139 it's not cheap but the quality and fitment is top notch, it has velcro strips to hold it in place, although I added a couple of additional stick on velcro bits to ensure that the cover stayed in the boot pockets properly. Very pleased - comes in a variety of colours black, grey, navy, red I went for the light brown so the white fur doesn't show up so much - as they say Dalmatians on shed twice a year - for six months in the spring and for six months in the autumn!
  9. That's not good, no suggestions I'm afraid other than contact the local dealer
  10. I'm keen to get an Enyaq but will wait for the cheaper models to come out - £40k is IMO way too expensive.
  11. The £40k price point is for the initial model that will only be offered at the top of the range, this is typical for the new electric models coming out of the VAG. Go to the Skoda website and you can spec a much cheaper version closer to £30k (after gov subsidies). Not sure about the "wait for second models" I'd be deeply worried about the battery life expectancy on a three year old leccie car - I remember the Top Gear guys buying a second hand Nissan Leaf that could only muster a range of 40 miles!
  12. Having downloaded the logos from the internet on to a memory stick (jpg), here is how to add the station logos
  13. Having bought a stock SE, the dog hair/slobber on the rear head rests is becoming a source of irritation, so my mind has wandered to whether or not I could order a set of replacement seat covers from Skoda and get a retrimmer to fit them? Any thoughts guys?
  14. Unfortunately I was 12 months ahead of you in crashing mine, the repairer took months to get the parts (new front wing and new front door) and that had to come from the factory as the model was so new. Hopefully the parts situation has improved but be prepared to have to go to Skoda UK.
  15. not sure about this thread, the horn on my Kamiq sounds loud and strong, not at all as described
