What tool to remove security bolt on wheel?

Featured Replies

Octiva Ambiente 1.6 FSI.

I have a different nut on one of the wheel nuts. I assume I need a special tool to remove this, there doesn't seem to be one in the boot.

Also I find this tool in the boot, is that a towbar?

There should have been a socket in with your jack and brace which would go on the security wheel bolt.If this is missing you can get universal fits all sockets on line but better off popping into a dealers. Yes the bottom picture is a towing bolt to screw into your bumpers, you should be able to find a removable section for this It saves tying a rope around something breakable.

Ah I found it in a plastic bag that was hanging on a hook in the boot.

Thanks.

Wheel nut looks abit corroded so maybe some wd40 and keep the socket square on to the bolt to stop slippage.

Yep very corroded, I could hardly get that socket in then trouble getting it out.

I find if you get a tyre replaced the garage will use their own sockets for the security bolt.

Probably worth sourcing a replacement set IMO..........
