Multiple codes showing after yesterdays heavy rain and low power/limp mode?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Ive got a bit of a problem with my 2006 BLT engined VRS

I was driving yesterday in the middle of a heavy downpour and the car seemed to go into limp mode. Higher revs gave no more power at all and really struggled on hills. It seemed to have a limit on the power output if that make sense.

After a while nearer home it seemed to get a bit better and seemed to have a bit more power but felt like there was no turbo attached any more, but the power slowly rose with the revs.

Its the same today, driveable but like an old, non turbo diesel.

It also takes a while to start compared to usual where it starts instantly every time.

IveIve attached a cheap code reader today which is showing the following,

0100

0102

0243

0489

0684

Its just had a service, cambelt and MOT and passed ok.

My garage isnt open over the weekend so just wondering if anyone had an idea of what it may be? And hopefully its all related to a single sensor or similar!

Thanks in advance,

Rob.

Check your hoses and connections going from and to the intercooler and turbo. Exhaust is behaving as usual or there's more smoke coming out of the tailpipe? Is the sound the same or is it a kind of muted sound compared to normal? Could be a detached hose.

@barbusg60 any updates? I have the exact symptoms on my 1.9 TDI BSW. I've had the timing belt changed as well. My mechanic thinks the timing belt hasn't been timed properly.

This ^^
