I've just bought a 2003 Octavia Estate (Laurin and Klement model) but I think I'll move it on or break it,  NEEDING SOME ADVICE ON THIS !!

Is it worth my while, do folks still look for swapping bits out of a better model into a base model car??!

Yes there is a lot of interest I believe. It’s a shame you’re so far away as I would take a few parts of you if it was to be broken.

 

I think the most expensive parts on it are going to be the Xenons and the full leather interior plus the carpet. The interior is what I’ve seen a lot of people get for their vRS As they prefer the leather with black carpet. People are always looking for spare parts on these. I know a guy currently breaking two of these. Once the most the above has gone its quite hard to shift the rest I’ve found. So you’ll be left with a shell, doors, etc. 

 

I just recently picked up my L&K estate.

If you intend on keeping it, do it up and save it.

Car is now back on it's feet after fitting a 2nd hand rack.....I suspect it failed due to water contamination (mix-up between screen-wash and PS reservoirs ??)  and it was red....should be green G00200 stuff.

New parts fitted were rear susp spring, front susp spring, front wheel bearing, front susp arms, track rod ends, front discs and pads.

Needs attention to intercooler and turbo pipes, intercooler is oily and the lower pipe was detached-I refitted it but it blew off after a few miles of not hard driving.

 

Will try and remember to post some pics here as it progresses.

Glad to hear that you’ve got it sorted.
