Hello .. I have a problem with the seat heater switch .. I recently bought a 2010 SKODA FABIA car and tried to turn on the left front seat heater, but probably someone spilled juice on the switch so it doesn't click but it works .... I'm wondering how to get it out  switch to try to do it ??  Lp.

Thank you for your help!!  I just don't know yet how to remove the center console to remove the switch ?? Pavinjo

I think you will find they just prise out, with the help of two small screwdrivers or better still, plastic pry-tools, to gently lever them up. You should not need to remove the centre console.

I managed to prise mine out of my old Fabia fairly easily using an orange lego brick seperator.

In fact, I keep one in the car, it's quite handy, far less harsh than a screwdriver.

Why do the orange lego bricks need a separator? Surely they should be just as easy as any other colour brick!😇

Hahaha - I hoped nobody would quote me as I realised later I was thinking about the central locking button as my old 1.4tdi pd1 didn’t have heated seats....(Or much else)

There was no orange bricks when I was a kid.  Black; white, red, blue, yellow....and I think grey if bought a train set 😂

I’ve used that brick separator loads lately though, it’s dead handy.

@TheRivieraKid did you replaced the central locking button? I'm looking to do that as well:

It's easy to take it out? Do you remember? I don't want any damage 🙈.

Well I thought it was,  I can’t remember which side I levered up though.  I have heard of other people removing the gear gaiter and reaching it from underneath though.

like most bits of plastic in cars, some seems to pop out without any bother, some shatters in your hands if you’re not careful 😂

ngabriel, some items can be levered from either end, some start from one end, specifically and will be tougher if tried the wrong way. Just be gentle and if you use something plastic, its generally softer so won't scratch the surrounding surface. Otherwise its just "Suck it and see".

I will try having a little look in the Haynes manual later, to see if there is a removal procedure but today is the hottest day of the year and I will be "Pretending" my garden is the beach, with my family!

ngabriel, if you have still to do the job, Haynes manual suggested method is to unclip the circular clip/frame that holds the gear gaiter to the console, then put your hand inside, to push the clip out from behind.

The gaiter frame is fairly easy to prise up, just by using your fingertips.nails but again. be careful not to break it. I popped my clip off yesterday, just to try and it is easy enough to get access to the switch but I did not try to push the with out.

Luca3, the same method should also allow access to the teo heater switches. I only have blanking covers there as I don't have heated seats (Boo) But the method should be the same.
