Kenwood DNX520vbt Bluetooth issues

Featured Replies

Hi everyone

I’ve just purchased a Skoda Yeti 2011 model which has a Kenwood DNX520vbt

Would be very grateful if anyone can shed light on the issues I’m having with Bluetooth.

I can pair my iPhone 6, which is running OS X 13.5, and phone book has synced and can make and receive calls Using the touch screen on DNX520vbt, or through the display on dashboard Behind steering wheel.
So Bluetooth appears to be working fine. However when I’m playing something using Spotify it connects to Skoda_BT and no sound comes out.
When I check Bluetooth connections is details booth skoda_bt and DNX520vbt

A few things I’ve tried;

I’ve tried factory restore. I’ve deleted the paired phones and re-paired.
I’ve tried un pairing one at a time, so either skoda_bt or is selected  DNX520vbt.

I've tried Another media device like iTunes.
I wouldn’t be in such a puzzle if the pairing didn’t work at all and that hands free didn’t work.

I’ve gone through quite a few posts about This and various have said Bluetooth is out of date, but if that’s the case is there a patch or install for the iPhone that can be installed. Also why does handsfree work if music doesn’t.

thanks for any help, enlightenment or suggestions

Does music work if connected by USB or AUX?

Sounds like you have the cars original BT module still enabled rather than just the Kenwoods BT.

I'd check under the front seats for the original BT module and disconnect it :)

Feel free to add a picture if you're unsure what you've found.

Hi

thanks for the replies

urrell music works when through Aux and skoda_bt not selected and played through headphones.

when on usb it shows the artist and track information but no sounds. Any ideas?

Iangers2k. Thanks. There are quite a few cables under the driver seat. Is there anything I should be looking out for. Otherwise I will add picture.

thanks so much

Sorry also should be clear.

i mean by playing through headphones, I mean it plays through car speakers when aux cable is connected, but I choose headphones rather than skoda_bt on Spotify devices

My 2010 yeti was fine with the phone I had when I got the car, but when the phone was replaced I could not get it to work properly as the car was not compatible with the newer phone. When I changed to a 2014 yeti same phone was fine after that.

Thanks Ken

did yours 2010 work with phone handsfree through speaker? Or did that also not work? Thanks again

It all worked fine hands free with Bluetooth when I got it. It was an elegance, but the lower spec cars don’t have the Bluetooth module so won’t do this unless fitted as an extra. However after upgrading the phone it all locked up every time it tried to load the address book from phone into car unit as not compatible. 2014 elegance immediately loaded the phone book from same phone and worked fine.

Hi ken

thanks -

appears to be different issue.

my Bluetooth pairing is working as is address book and handsfree via Bluetooth and car speakers.

issues are only there when I try and play music or sound and connects to skoda_bt

I tried to photograph cables without much luck under drivers seat
