Can I raise the boot floor?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm looking at buying a used Kodiaq, however on measuring the height of the boot floor to the rear seats and to the rear window it is around 27". My dog will be in the car lots and she measures 25" when sitting or standing to her eyes (border collie). So if she is in the boot it will be like a dungeon for her, she won't be able to see forwards or backwards and she loves to look out.

As it's obviously the model without the spare wheel is there any accessory or anything that anyone is aware of that raises the floor of the boot, maybe to the level of the boot with the spare wheel (which is about 5" higher and perfect).

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

My 5 seater came with no spare wheel, so I bought a space saver.

To accommodate it, I removed the polystyrene cradle under the boot floor that held tyre inflation kit. I put the space saver in that space and then I made a raised boot floor using a sheet of chipboard I had in the garage and 6 lengths of 2" X 2" to make some legs high enough for the board to clear the spare wheel.

I then placed the original carpeted board on top of the false floor and on top of that I have plastic boot mat.

Obviously you don't need to buy a spare wheel, but the false floor was easy to make and cost me virtually nothing.

You can buy the boot floor kit from the dealer - for 5 seat conversion to add the space saver - from memory that was like £100

Its the foam, some tools, floor

I bought the kit and also a boot liner kit - but never fitted either..... also the dog guard...  all sat in the garage at home..

I have St Bernards - Bought the 7 seater and was going to lower it for the dogs to the 5 seater with space saver... but never did..

Decided to keep the Suzuki GV - the Ronnie Mobile... for the 2 of them...

Search ebay - you could used to find them there too..
