Indicators warnings fault

Featured Replies

Hi I'm new to this forum so thanks for allowing me to join.  I have a 2016 5 door 60 ps Citigo. Its developed an intermittent fault, in as much as every so often, the indicator warnings in the dash binnacle stop working or sometimes they will work and flash quickly as if a bulb has gone  BUT whenever these faults appear the indicators themselves are still actually working normally.  This is happening more and more often and sometimes the engine management light will come on as well.  Lock the car leave it an hour or overnight and the faults all go. Doesn't effect the cars operation at all.  Any advice. Thanks.🙆‍♂️🙆‍♂️🙆‍♂️

First off, disconnect and reconnect a battery terminal to reset the ECU (my stuck record!), and make sure your battery is good and charges properly. A dying battery is the cause of  a number of electronic issues.

Other than that it may be a loose or corroded wiring somewhere (but I can see that's not helpful).

Thanks, I'll try the battery disconnect and see how it goes.

👍

When  disconnected, get a voltage reading across the battery terminals with a meter.

Charge level/voltage should roughly be like this.

100%    12.7+V
75%    12.4V
50%    12.2V

Then check voltage again when terminals are back on (there is always a slight battery load)
