TCS

Featured Replies

Hi all I have a Karoq petrol 2 wheel drive with DSG and only 3500 miles on the clock from new, and twice recently the TCS warning light has come on for no apparent reason, I stop and switch off the ignition , switch back on, and the light stays out, and during the rest of the journey , does not come back on , the only similarity between the warning light occurrences is it was wet, and I was slowing down

Has anyone else had the happen ?I am thinking dodgy sensor or poor earth connection on one of the components that control this system.

Any help would be appreciated.

Could it be due to a slight wheel slip if the road was wet?

I was wondering that, but would the light stay on after the wheel had stopped slipping? But the light stays on if ASR is deactivated... has the button been pressed by mistake perhaps???

It happened to me a couple of times in my old Yeti (it was wet also), and the light would stay on until the ignition was turned off then it reset itself

Hi again re replies, the wheel slippage, this is a non starter, as it was at about 20mph, slowing down, as i said in the first mail, i think much more likely a sensor problem, many years ago had a similar type of problem with my Vauxhall Calibra, and after checking all anti skid sensors, found all to be ok, it turned out to be a bad earth on the rear lights, go figure!
